Pontiac gardens and gifts

(Y@H) Come visit six glorious gardens in West Quebec where local artists are selling their work.

The third Gardens and Gifts tour is happening Aug. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This self-drive tour introduces you to organic vegetable and flower gardening, wildlife-friendly designs, and native plants.

What about the gifts? Local artisans have been invited to sell their crafts, books and cards in the gardens, plus, you have a chance to purchase nursery stock and seeds at Beaux Arbres. As well, one garden features a wood-fired pizza oven, and another sells herbal products.

So come on out to the spectacular Pontiac. Drive from Ottawa via Highway 148 West –  or hop on the Quyon Ferry and make a delightful summer circuit. The tour is completely free.

As a special invitation, our  Y@H travel and Active Adventure columnist Katharine Fletcher is delighted to meet you at her garden, Spiritwood. She and her photographer-husband Eric Fletcher have been writing for us for years –  so come on out, meet our team of travel writers, and see what they’re up to at Spiritwood. Hint: Katharine and Eric’s artwork will also be on display!
